Rubber, Fluorosilicone Elastomer, Oil -, Hydraulic Fluid-, and Fuel-Resistant, Sheets, Strips, Molded Parts, and Extruded Shapes

MIL-DTL-25988 covers fluorosilicone (FVMQ) rubber parts intended for aerospace and aeronautical applications. Specifically, MIL-DTL-25988 covers: MIL-DTL-25988 divides these into two types, each with several sub-classes.

Validation testing for MIL-DTL-25988 FVMQ rubbers includes hardness, tensile strength, elongation, compression set, tear strength, specific gravity, elongation, and temperature retraction, along with pre-test conditioning. Specific aging tests include engine oil and fuel aging.

MIL-DTL-25988 rubber parts are not compatible with synthetic phosphate ester-based hydraulic fluids and are generally not recommended for gas turbine or helicopter transmission lubricants.
