Smithers Pira recently announced that SustPack 2016 will be held on April 11-13, 2016 at McCormick Place in Chicago, IL. Brought together by Smithers Pira and the Sustainable Packaging Coalition, SustPack 2016 brings together packaging engineers, branding specialists, sustainability experts and more to cultivate ideas and solutions benefiting the needs of the entire supply chain.
The theme of next year’s event will be “Business Made Sustainable”. Insightful presentations will examine sustainability and its effect on ROI, business goal setting and execution, case studies on successful brands and locations that are paving the way for systems thinking, potential solutions to marine debris and innovations in traditional packaging materials.
The 2015 event brought in dynamic speakers from Johnson & Johnson, Georgia Pacific, Walmart, Green Blue, PepsiCo, ConAgra, Biodegradable Products Institute, Target, and Dow Chemical among others. The conference also included in-depth workshops on foodservice packaging, sustainable efforts in forestry and trends in materiality. Strategic Business and Brand Development representative from Hewlett Packard noted, “If you need critical information on how to incorporate more sustainability in your package production, this is the place”.
SustPack 2016 will give stakeholders from all aspects of the packaging supply chain the opportunity to discuss, network, learn and debate the opportunities, technologies and challenges facing the industry today.
