Standard name: Conical fittings with a 6 % (Luer) taper for syringes, needles and certain other medical equipment - Part 2: Lock fittings (ISO 594-2:)

This standard applies to conical (Luer) fittings of small- bore connectors for use with hypodermic syringes and needles and covers components constructed from rigid and semi-rigid materials.
Testing capabilities to ISO 594-2 include:
- Gauging test
- Liquid leakage from the fitting assembly under pressure
- Air leakage into the conical fitting assembly during aspiration
- Separation force of fitting assembly
- Unscrewing torque of fitting assembly
- Ease of assembly
- Resistance to overriding
- Stress cracking
