Smithers announced that Michael Hochschwender, President and CEO of The Smithers Group, Inc., will present the keynote speech, “The New Reality of Innovation,” on September 9 at 8:30 a.m. at the Tire Society’s 33rd Annual Meeting and Conference on Tire Science and Technology, held in conjunction with the International Tire Exhibition and Conference (ITEC).
“Since our inception in 1925, Smithers has had the opportunity to work with a wide variety of clients in the tire industry on their toughest technical challenges,” Hochschwender said. “ITEC and the Tire Society’s Annual Meeting and Conference on Science and Technology both provide an excellent opportunity to discuss innovations, that are shaping future products, with some of the best minds in the industry.”
In addition to Hochschwender, two Smithers experts will present at ITEC. Bruce Lambillotte, General Manager of the Smithers' Akron Laboratory, will discuss “Mineral Filler Usage in Passenger Tire Innerliners” on September 9 at 10 a.m. This seminar is an overview of the qualitative and quantitative analysis of the filler systems from more than 300 radial passenger tire innerliners.
Jim Popio, Vice President and General Manager, Smithers, will present “Comparison and Contrast of European and North American Tire Regulations” on September 11 at 11:30 a.m. This talk will focus on how changes to the tire regulatory landscape have impacted tire manufacturers, with the goal of providing a comparison and contrast of European and North American compliance standards, as well as differences in type approval and tire labelling.
In addition, the Smithers team of experts will be available in the ITEC exhibition at booth #318 to discuss testing and product development challenges with conference attendees.
