  • Consumer wipes include baby wipes, personal care wipes and household or homecare wipes, while industrial wipes are broken down into general purpose, speciality, food service and healthcare wipes.
  • The global nonwoven wipes market is valued at $16.6 billion and consumed 1.2 million tonnes of nonwovens in 2018.  Home care has surpassed baby wipes globally in value, though baby wipes consume over four times as many tonnes as does home care wipes (607,700 tonnes compared to 137,900 tonnes). In 2018, baby wipes and home care wipes are very close in sales value market share at around 30% and personal care and industrial wipes are very close in sales value market share around 20%.
  • By 2023, value will grow to $21.8 billion and nonwoven consumption will grow to 1.6 million tonnes.  Figure 0.2 shows the split by projected end use sales in 2023.
