Shaun McCallion
Head of Dangerous Goods Package Testing
Shaun has over 15 years experience in testing and evaluation of packaging, with materials testing experience, transit packaging expertise and detailed knowledge of packaging for the transport of dangerous goods. For more than 8 years Shaun has managed Smithers Pira's UN dangerous goods package testing business.
As a former DGSA, Shaun has extensive knowledge of the road, air, sea and rail regulations, as well as knowledge of the range of packaging formats involved in dangerous goods packaging. Shaun also has extensive experience of packaging specification and common failure modes related to UN testing.
During his time at Smithers Pira Shaun has delivered a high level of service to clients, supporting them with understanding the complex regulatory and testing/approvals process. Shaun is a member of the Institute of Packaging by Diploma and has represented UK industry as the UK principal expert for ISO/CEN working groups on behalf of BSI.
