This test method can be used to assess the performance of packaged-products when exposed to random vibration inputs.
Random vibration is used to predict the effects of oscillatory motions resulting from transportation. For the most accurate results, these laboratory tests should be based on representative field data and would be best evaluated when compared to actual field shipment effects.
This procedure provides more accurate vibration test data than sweep tests because the amount of resonance buildup is limited. Note: Built up resonance can produce unrealistic fatigue damage in shipping containers during laboratory testing.
