There are at least seven new dispersible nonwovens production lines under construction, most using the hydroentangled wetlaid spunlace process pioneered by Ahlstrom. Up until now, there has been a shortage of dispersible nonwovens for the growing flushable wipes market; this has led to use of non-dispersible nonwovens which in turn have caused serious problems globally in wastewater treatment systems. These problems have attracted the attention (negative) of government regulatory agencies. The new dispersible nonwovens capacity is large enough to supply the current flushable wipes market several times over.  This report will detail and describe all of the new capacity globally, its capabilities and weaknesses, and the markets, current and projected, existing and new, through 2020.
