Andrew Volmensky
Principal Engineer
Andrew has over 18 years experience in the transportation packaging sector. Originally Andrew was involved in the manufacture, calibration, servicing and installation of package test laboratories for clients globally. Now Andrew leads Smithers Pira's laboratory at Huntington Beach, applying his extensive knowledge of the transport environment and packaging performance. As an expert in transportation testing and simulation protocols, Andrew has extensive knowledge of both ASTM and ISTA standards.
Andrew is responsible for the all technical and quality aspects of the laboratory. His areas of interest and on-going research include leveraging dynamic test systems to help answer every client's ultimate question: "Will this package survive in the shipping environment?"
Andrew's knowledge covers a range of industry sectors, including medical and pharmaceutical, cold chain and temperature sensitive products shipped in thermal packaging, food and beverage, electronics and industrial.
